Michael Jackson: A Legend, An Inspiration....
So as most of you already know... The KING OF POP has passed... Today June 25th, 2009 the world lost another star, another legend... All "personal issues" aside, Michael Jackson was probably one of, if not the greatest performer of all time... He changed the lives of people all over the world, from all generations.... Everyone older than 4 or 5 knows who MJ is and could recognize hits like "Thriller," "Billie jean," and countless other tracks... The man single handed changed the music industry... Making people call out of work for video releases like THRILLER, probably the greatest track recorded and arguably the greatest album recorded... Selling between 45 and 110 million records world wide... And being on the Billboard 200 for 80 weeks in a row.... NOBODY WILL EVER ACHIEVE THE SUPERSTARDOM THAT MJ DID.... He was the KING of POP!

I hope that people remember him for all the great things he did for the entertainment world and the way he inspired so many and brought so many people together...

Generation of "Jet Setters"
What up world!? If you have been out the loop, like myself, Diggy (Rev Run's son) has a blog titled "Life of the Jet Setter..." While watching the season 6 premier of Run's House with my family, my pops told me about Diggy's blog... I took a quick glance at it and knew I had to come back and check it out... It amazes me how much this kid is into... It truly gives me hope for the next generation... Granted, he has an unlimited library of resources, but he doesn't sit back and expect things to happen for him... THE BOY PUTS IN WORK! I think this is exactly the image that needs to be on prime time for kids to see what they can do... How they can use Hip Hop and the world of fashion and design in a positive and creative light... It's not about the guns, drugs, and b******, but about a lifestyle and tapping into your own creativity in a way that inspires those following your footsteps... And Diggy has done exactly that... Be sure to check him out... He is only 14, but he has such a passion for what he does and that is something we can all learn from...

Justice for All?

As I am sure most of you know, that there was recently a murder that took place in the Holocaust Museum in D.C.... (<---Click to read article) After reading some articles and countless comments on the topic, I was a bit furious but not necessarily surprised... I'll get straight to the point in what I am talking about.... I kept reading/hearing that this attack was not a terrorist attack... And even if it is not being said that it was not, it is not being said that it was... (although the cartoon is not a representation of this incident, it is an accurate representation of the mindset of most Americans)... Now I know that this is not the case for all, but I felt it important to bring this to light because I feel the media is trying to let it die down... Unlike any "terrorist attack" that is executed or planned by Muslims... First let me start by saying that an act of terror is defined as "the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear..." Now I am no expert in the Criminal Justice field but I think that saying that this was not an act that had religious and political ideologies in mind would be a complete lie... This man was on a mission, he ran a hate website (which is now controlled by the Dept of Defense...), and was just one of the many White Supremacist living in this country... And in my eyes, white supremacy is the equivalence of a Muslim extremist...

Now the reason for this post isn't to bash one side but to bring these issues to light and show that both sides are wrong... Something that the American media has never truly done... And the fact that the Dept of Defense is trying to turn von Brunn's site into a "friendly zone" by stating "We would like for you to see how TRUE Christians are..." and providing a link for one to read testimonies of "TRUE Christians." It is this mentality that gives America a bad rep throughout the rest of the world... It is saying that this man is not a terrorist and that "TRUE Christians" (with capital letters, so it must be important?) are not like that... But since 9/11 ALL Muslims have been looked at the same by most Americans... This is not just... This is not what we are about.. What happened to equality? How come people, Americans, are not outraged the way they are when "others" follow through on "terrorist attacks?" Why isn't the media discussing this as a terrorist attack?

People always get on my case because I am a "conspiracy theorist" but it's incidents like this that make me doubt the government and its TRUE intentions... I feel that we focus too much on outside factors and do not spend enough time fighting the war on terror here in the States... Why is that? Why is it that we know about all these hateful societies, but cannot prevent something like this from happening... Especially when the killer was blogging about it on his site...

Again, I am not taking sides here, but I believe that Americans and the Gov't have... Even if people are not agreeing with what is happening in their homeland, if they openly ignore it and try to justify it or cover it up, in my opinion, they are supporting it...

I hope this post was clear in what I wanted to get across... I hope that people can see that Christians ALSO commit terrorist attacks and we cannot ignore that... Especially if the media will exploit Muslims for following their beliefs.... The point of this post is that terrorists come in all shapes and sizes... And an act of terror is exactly that, REGARDLESS of who commits it...

(Be sure to click on the links on the post and read on some of these topics... Only through education of each other will we be able to progress together...)
